I personally like to sit and think with a din in the background. Too quiet is distracting. Ideally a football game or a hockey game on the TV. If it's music, ideally something instrumental or acoustic.

Hello all, Name's Bill and I'm a new recruit for the Union side. I've been playing JTS/WDS games for almost ten years, but only over the last couple got into PBEM. Still doing my training but I've got Gettysburg and Overland, and I'll probably add Shiloh, Antietam, and another over the holiday sale....
