I'm looking for an opponent to play the Battle of Williamsburg (with weather) from the CWB Demo or the Battle of the Mule Shoe scenario from Campaign Overland; or both.
I'm still looking for an opponent for The Mule Shoe scenario. I'll play either side. |

Yes. The micro-terrain is crucial to understanding the flow/results of a fight or a battle. At Spotsylvania, for example, it is hard to conceive of the fighting around the bloody angle for an entire day, but stand on the ground and look around and you can see the effect of the micro-terrain. Go 25 y... |

The house rule that I have always followed is this: Small units (fewer than 100 strength) and all skirmishers found behind enemy lines should seek shelter in covered terrain and stay there until a path to their own lines is open. Formed units of greater strength are allowed to wreck havoc if able to... |

The Yanks offer scenarios: 096 or 088 or 103. These are meeting engagements of around 40 turns. Alternatively, scenario 110 is possible but its 86 turns. Where do you want to die? |

I will accept a battle at Chickamagua but I will need a day or two to find a second officer.
Found a second. WE ARE GOOD TO GO! What scenario did you have in mind? We await your courier. |

I should add that I am editing the scenario based on observations that Ned and I made during our game. In the very near future, I plan to have an updated scenario file and an updated map file. If interested in playing the revised version, send me a message.

After 210 turns, I offered Ned (playing R.E. Lee) a victory in our "On to the James" scenario (alt with Early's Corps remaining with the ANV) from Campaign Overland. This expansive scenario begins with the armies entrenched at Cold Harbor the night before Grant issues orders for the AoP to... |

Are different artillery types more or less effective against units in trenches? Mortars, for example, as opposed to Napoleons? |

Sirs: I have to agree with your assessment of the original scenario design. Once the Confederates fall behind the Chickahominy River, it is exceedingly difficult for the Union to win. I personally know from playing many of the scenarios that best way for the Union to successfully cross the river is ... |
