Major General David Peek

Army of the Mississippi

Has been awarded his first Joseph E. Johnston Medal of Recognition by President Davis for
"...efforts in battle and leadership worthy of recognition."

CSA Chief of Army further cites that
"...He has achieved over 1000 OBD points both on the battlefield and in command positions.
He is a credit to the ACWGC, this Army and the Confederate States of America."
