Sir,
You appear to have left the column. December 28th was last communication. Courier can't find you. I figure you went to refill your jug of corn squeezs'uns and most likely wandered into enemy lines. My fellows are at Wilson's Creek. If anyone sees the good Captain would you be kind enough to point him our way...or if captured, parole him, dress him in blue and send him on his way.
