I've been poking around in the OOB files for a couple of the games and came across a "Z" unit designation. There is nothing I've been able to find about this type of unit in either the manuals or in the Engineering section of the website. I can only assume that this designates a Zouave unit.

Since there is nothing about these units in the manual, I'm also assuming that these units are treated as standard infantry with no special "abilities". Correct so far?

If all of this is true, why even have a special designation? The uniform .bmp's are designated by another entry.

You are correct. No special abilities. Dates back to Battleground days. Can't answer the question as to why this was included.
