American Civil War Game Club (ACWGC)

On behalf of the Cabinet, it is truly my privilege and a great pleasure to announce the first award of the ACWGC Special Service Medal to General Blake Strickler.
This award was adopted by the Club Membership in February, 2022 to recognize: “exceptional execution of a particular task performed over a short period of time that is of significant benefit to the ACWGC as a whole” (Club Rule 6.1.3.1).

Since the beginning of beginning of 2022, General Strickler has designed and managed or will have managed by years end 7 tournaments intended in part to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the ACWGC. I say in part because I know his real interest is to bring gaming enjoyment and gentlemanly competition to the Club membership—an interest that began well before this anniversary year and which will extend well beyond it.

Those of you familiar with scenario design and how daunting and time-consuming tournament management can be know how truly prodigious and extraordinary this achievement is. We are a Club ever on the lookout for a few good men to help manage it for the purposes of making membership in it enjoyable and to continue its prominence as the best ACW Club there is. We are fortunate indeed to have among us a member such as General Strickler who works tirelessly towards these ends.
