First ACW battlefield was, i think, Chickamauga with my Scout Troop.
First "battlefield" was Horseshoe Bend, also with my Scout Troop.

My first battlefield was Valley Forge. Great memories of going there as a child. My first ACW battlefield was Gettysburg. I have visited Gettysburg 2 or 3 times and learn something new each time. I’m planning on making another trip.

The Battle (skirmish?) of Corydon. Indiana Home Guard units took on John Hunt Morgan and his raiders after they crossed the Ohio River in July 1863. I grew up just down the road from there.

My first significant battlefield was Fort Ticonderoga in summer 1978.

Gettysburg was the first ACW battlefield, but pretty sure the first battlefield overall was Fort Niagara.

Around age 6 or 7, for me it was Missionary Ridge, TN; Chickamauga & Ringgold, GA. I had family involved in all of them. I was fascinated by the Civil War, and was reading Bruce Catton in the third grade. When other kids in the neighborhood were playing war made popular by the old black & white TV series "Combat," I on the other hand had all the grade school warriors playing Billy Yank & Johnny Reb. We must have stormed old lady Brock's house a dozen times before she threatened to call our parents and the authorities...prompting a hasty retreat and a sorrowful surrender to the enemy, lol. Our old rudimentary quaker guns are probably still on the ridge, deep in the woods, overlooking Standifer Gap and the thousand cars that pass by daily. What fun we had...
