The Army of the Mississippi proudly announces its successful raid of the Old Abe Tavern, or rather the establishment formerly known as the Old Abe Tavern, on October 9!
Our fine Army braved the hundreds of miles of enemy territory and successfully infiltrated the enemy tavern. Although some men were unable to get past the ridiculous security measures, passwords, and roadblocks at the enemy site. Luckily, most of us were able to access it without too much annoyance.
We were fortunate enough to find a photographer in a nearby town who took this great shot of us beating up on the Yankees. Thats Mallory there taking out a Union general with a swift left hook! Col. Davis and Col. Stiles are heaving a Yank across the bar while I am the fella throwing the chair through the glass behind the bar. We even were able to capture the never before photographed, Ernie Sands, on film! Thats him, we believe, at the end of the bar just trying to stay out of it. This is debated though as some say that old man looks far too young to be Ernie

Thanks to all my volunteers who attacked the enemy tavern and turned it into a shambles! Not a single Yankee posted in defiance of us throughout the entire raid! We can only conclude the AotT Tavern is as deserted as their Cause has become! We expected better from the "finest" Army in the Union! Perhaps Meyer will organize a counter-raid on our establishment in the future. If you do, sir, you will find our men on guard and ready to answer at a moments notice!
Huzzah for the Army of the Mississippi! A round of drinks for everyone at the Shipwreck Lounge! Cameron is on vacation so all drinks will be charged to his account!
