The newer members wouldn't know how much work the early admin people put in. Ernie was here when I joined in 1999, I believe he was commanding the AotO then. All the info now stored in the DoR was kept by the admin people in spreadsheets, your game start and end notices, were done by email. Websites were maintained by the army commanders in those days. Some learned html some used free websites that were available with their own webpage builders.
I remember seeing Don Adams at the first Tiller Con in Mechanicsburg, Va in 2005, while others were playing games Don spent a lot of time on his laptop putting the final touches on what would be the DoR. here's a picture from Ernie's flickr page
https://www.flickr.com/photos/erniesan1 ... otostream/Ernie also has pictures there from Tiller Con II and III. Don retired from the ACWGC a while ago, not sure exactly when as that is not listed in the DoR. The last time I recall seeing or hearing from him was the See Ya at Antietam in 2009, I don't believe he was at Tiller Con III. I'm not sure if anyone has been in touch with him since he retired. I guess Ernie took over the DoR at that time but I can't say for sure.
