My wife & I were actually walking up Taneytown Road next to the Cemetery yesterday, to the parking lot right across from it. Not a walk we normally do, but we parked there (as it was free) and close to the shops on Steinwehr Ave. We had gone for the tail end of this weekends Christmas Festival.
Either way as you're walking up the hill from the light at the bottom, the landscape for Pickett's Charge, particularly the Confederate side starts to unfold. One the things not mentioned in the video, as they were not walking that area, is that the buffet does block the view of the Virginia (Lee) Monument for most of that walk up.
I'm glad the buffet will be relocating and though I am sad they won't be the endcap piece in town (KFC & McDonald's would now be the last buildings in town, which is infuriating), the views gained will be nice as well as the additional signage, etc. which I'm sure will focus on all the topics mentioned. It'll be nice to have more about Camp Colt too!
