I'm not tired of house rules and am not a Union officer but if you'll accept a Confederate opponent - Challenge accepted.

Let's play historical Shiloh (Shiloh 144) WDS v4.04.1.

Optional Rules are somewhat negotiable but I'd like to include Mixed Organizational Penalty to demonstrate the absurdity of that rule. So, I suggest checking of all Optional Rules except:
Manual Defensive Fire;
Victory Points for Leader Casualties;
Limited Artillery Unlimber; and
Artillery Capture.
