Hello All!

Another new recruit joining the Union Army. I had to go back to the WDS store to see when I bought the first Civil War game - December 2020. Doesn't seem like over three years ago.

I war gamed since the late 1970s with Avalon Hill and SPI. Didn't have time for quite a while as I served in the U.S. Navy and then focused on a civilian career. Now getting closer to retirement, I'm finding more time to relax a bit.

Saw several of you are close to Gettysburg. I'm only 90 minutes south in Northern Virginia.

Looking forward to some interesting games and intrigued by multi-player at some point.

Welcome, Stan, to the Union Army and the club.
I share your Avalon Hill/SPI background from way back then. I just joined in January and know you'll find it full of great people (on both sides) and just plain fun like in the past but with a hugely expanded base of playing opportunities. Let me know if I can help in any way.

It's great to have you on board. Avalon Hill games (and especially Squad Leader) were also my first wargames, and I've been an ASL'er ever since.

Ahh... Avalon Hill games. Got me into the hobby with Tactics II and Gettysburg as Christmas presents in 1959. :lol:

It is my great pleasure to welcome Stan to the American Civil War Gaming Club!

One of the great joys of being involved with the training of new members is the opportunity to get to know a fellow wargamer!

Like so many of us Stan has been involved in war gaming on many levels and we are certainly glad that he has joined us!
Stan is also a member of the North South Skirmish Association, look it up, this guy knows how to shoot some serious artillery pieces!
