Sirs,

It used to be that when a game was started, it was registered with a start date. I no longer see that as an option. I only see an option to register a completed game. If that is true, then perhaps the following needs to be revised.

2.4.2: Members will remain in the Reserve Corps of their respective armies until they have been listed as a participant in a newly registered game within the Department of Records. When that occurs, they will be transferred back to the active ranks of their army by their GinC within 30 days. Their exact posting within that army will be at the Army Commanders’ discretion.

newly registered game to newly completed game.

I was placed in the Reserve Corps but have been battling with General Tony Malone for several weeks now and I don't see how to register the game until it is completed.

Yours respectfully,

Hi Rich,

You are correct. In the new DOR you only register the game at its completion. One of the oddities in the old DOR was that, over time, many members never closed incomplete games. Therefore, a member might have started a game in 2015 and when you viewed their dossier it would display them as still playing an open game. It is unlikely they were still engaged after ten years and so these things were confusing when trying to determine if someone was actively gaming or not. I know in the ANV we tried to email everyone in 2022 and ask them to close out any incomplete games which were still open but no longer being played.

Your suggestion about rewording it is a valid one and I will bring it up to the Cabinet as I think it can be worded better as you say.

Thanks for the recommendation!
