For those designing scenarios or just curious at what some of the game parameters are, I have added a page to the open section of the CSA War College detailing the parameters in the HPS PDT file using Campaign Gettysburg as the example.

Located at:

http://wc.kwhitehead.com/CG_Parent/CG_PDT/default.aspx

If anyone has additional information or corrections please let me know.

Grabbed a copy of that should come in handy in the future, thanks.

Couldn't help but make 2 futile attempts to get into the college, whilst there (hey it's my duty) but no luck. [B)]

General Whitehead,

Thank you -- this is clear enough I think even *I* could figure it out now!

For item c, Hexside fire modifiers, the last item (40) is unknown. Could this possibly be for swamp? For some reason I'm thinking units in swamp are more susceptible to taking fire. (Just a guess, though, and I have no idea how to verify this.)

Definite possibility. A lot of the numbers and identifications are carryovers from Battleground and even some of the Napoleonic games. I ran into terrain identifiers saying it was for villages, building, chateaus, etc. which makes it a little hard to pin them down. Sometime might check some of the unidentified like swamps to see if there is a modifier for fire. Blocked terrain is another what the devil is that designation.

Hi, General,

Your explanation of the parameter data is valuable and much appreciated. I'm thinking that hexside modifier of 40 must be a railroad cut, aince it is a positive modifier whereas the others are all negative.
