American Civil War Game Club (ACWGC)

Greetings and Salutations!

I would like to introduce myself: My name is Sven Finn, and I look forward to fighting honorably to preserve the Union! I hail from northern New England, and I am excited about joining with my Yankee brethren and allies who support the Union during these times of turmoil.

I have played ASL (Advanced Squad Leader) for about 40 years, so that series could be considered my main interest and experience (and it still burns brightly today). After spending so much time in the 1939 - 1945 era, however, I am also ready to re-visit my love of Civil War history and wargaming. As I recall, the first wargame I played was from one of the old SPI "Quad Games", so it will be fun to revisit this era. My battle experience in terms of Civil War computer games is that I used to play the old TalonSoft series. I am looking forward to seeing what has changed from that original product.

My favorite thing about gaming is meeting new people, and having fun while engaged in a virtual life-or-death struggle. Honor is the centerpiece of our endeavor, and fun is the foundation. I look forward to making new friends in this group, and I look forward to meeting you on the field of battle.

You are most welcome to the ACWGC where fun, friendship, honour and respect are indeed the foundations of it. You are to be complimented on a fine introduction although your choice of uniform colour is dubious, you were obviously misdirected at the recruiting station. Your long experience with ASL should prove most beneficial in your coming endeavours I believe also.
