Gentlemen,

I consider Corinth to be my stomping grounds, having engaged in battle there many times, from both sides, against human and A/I opponents. As far as I can recall, I have never been beaten there.

Until now.

I met my match against General Mike Letus, of the Union Army of the Tennessee.

We just completed a three-battle Corinth campaign. I won the first engagement, he won the second, and the third, at Corinth itself, was a slugfest. As the Union commander, he was able to successfully defend the town and railroad depot, thwarting my every attempt from just about every direction imaginable. My cavalry even completely circled the town, probing for weak points, and rejoining my infantry in the end. The battle ended with a futile night charge by my Rebels, hoping against hope that the Union army might collapse. But it was not to be.

My hat is off to General Letus, and the next round of drinks here are on me, in his honor!

(Barkeep: Just keep a tab for me. I can't stick around. I'm heading to Georgia to see if I can hold off General Letus's Atlanta drive as successfully as he held mine off in Mississippi!)

Thank you, gentlemen, for your kind words. I've got to admit I had no idea that HPS placed a teleport device on the Corinth map but General Mallory found it and used it excessively! Troops seemed to be coming at poor Rosecrans from every direction and strict survival was the order of the day. I look forward to the Atlanta Campaign as Dee Dubya is an outstanding player who always seems to have something up his sleeve to make life miserable for the Union troops.

Good luck to you, sir, in the upcoming campaign!

This is a good match between these two. Both are canny and resist to the last man. There are a lot of victories on their records.

General Simms,
Thank you for your kind words as well. I still remember that Shiloh game we played 20 years ago as one of the more intense games I've ever played (it's the only one I really remember from my days in the club before retiring) and the Corinth battle just completed against General Mallory ranks right up there with it.

Take care,
MG Mike Letus
