Gentlemen,

I'm playing the second battle of a Peninsula campaign and trying to get across the Chickahominy using the fords at hexes <203,164> and <205,165> (among other places!). I can send units INTO these fords, but when they try to exit the other side I get a message saying "Other units block exit from bridge."

I don't think there are enemy units on the other side (although they MIGHT be hidden on the other side of some trees -- is there a rule preventing exit from a bridge into an enemy ZOC?), but I KNOW none of my men are over there, and these are definitely shown as fords and not bridges.

There are trails leading into the fords from my side, but none exiting from them on the other side. One exits into forest and the other into marsh.

I'm on v1.01.

Can anybody explain this to me?

Sir,

I had the same problem with crossing the fords playing the Union side in the Savage Station scenerio. My move was a side bar to the main action and I forgot about it untill you mentioned it. No enemy were persent that I could detect as well.

Your humble servant,

As you've seen, if you right click the hex you'll only see the trail for the ford on one side. It's dumb, but basically allows you to enter the river but not exit the other side. If it did, you can bet your opponent (me!) would've defended them! :)

General Schlitte,

I just figured you had some blue-belly cavalry hiding in the marsh beyond the forest, keeping a ZOC on the exit hex. If I can verify YOU can't get across there, either, I'll have a couple more brigades available to be re-directed elsewhere.

Now THERE's some good news for your beleaguered forces [:)] !
