It appears that I am without an opponent for Matrix game. Would like to play either Shervadino Redoubt or Kutozov Turns to Fight against a French Officer.

Any offers ?

Thank you Paul.

I am still open for Borodino - Kutozov turns to fight.

Egad! It now takes no less than a French Marechal to contest a 2nd Lieutenant of the King's German Legion.

My compliments to FM Moss for his superlative instructions to our cadets in the art of war. It shant be long until our cadets will be felling the Corsican's Marechals in droves.

Of course, the young Allied officer must still actually win the engagement....

Best of luck to you Lieutenant Barrett. I do admire your courage, sir. 8) 8) 8)

I am but a very humble servant of our glorious King.

To date I only have one victory under my belt. :-( But I am learning a lot from the Marechal's of the dimutive Corsican. :-)

Also I have two big HPS battles underway and I may surprise myself. ;-)

Sir, <salute>

Thank you for the offer but at moment no to Waterloo. I am not ready for such an undertaking.

I am currently playing a twin battles scenario and want to learn what I can from that one.

At the moment I wish to fight the Matrix version of Borodino. This will be interesting as I am currently playing 2 different HPS scenario's of Borodino and it will be interesting to compare.

I will venture a look at Waterloo scenario's later in the year.

It does seem as though I will be getting into the record books as the 2nd Lt beaten by the most Marechal's of France at this rate. That in itself isn't a bad thing but would prefer to be in a position to give you a bit of a challenge. ;-)

I was playing Borodino against your Lt D French but something has befallen him, I can only hope it is simply a case of equipment malfunction. But till he returns to there are other battles to be fought.

Your future foe,

2nd Lt Barrett, it is far better to lose a battle against a superior foe and learn from it, than to win a battle against a less skilled player and not learn anything.

The victories we amass against a weaker foe are only good for one thing - the ego.
As long as one is learning and improving, losing battles against an opponent who has superior skills is nothing to be ashamed of.

But as I said, learning from the experience is the key.
And when one is learning, the challenge you are able to offer the skilled opponent will make it more and more difficult for them!
Thereby gaining their respect!

Regards,

Sir

I agree and welcome your encouragement. However at least playing half of a scenario against the computer would give me some insight into the battle. Then at least I would have some ideas of my own to try.

Respectfully yours,

Salute!

Insight into a battle scenario is important!

But against the AI you are wasting your time.
The AI will do nothing appropriate to what a real human foe will do.

My self, I will look at the battle map on normal setting, without fog of war, and do my study that way, playing both sides - or even as hot seat with fog of war - so that you get an understanding of when and where you are visible.

Studying the scenario this way, you gain very useful insight into what you, and more importantly the foe is likely or potentially to attempt.

You see it from the other side of the hill as it were.

Regards,

Now that is a good tip.

I look at them without fog of war but I did not think of playing both sides in the game.

Thank you

Sir,

That is very good news - we tried before but you could not get your game to work - look forward to your communication.

:-) :-)

Kutozov turns to fight all optional rules except isolation and line movement restriction.

skirmishers to stay close to main army.
