I am very disappointed. I sent you such a fine welcome. AdR will have you charging uphill, through a swamp, in the snow, into 18-lb Russian Licornes before you can say "Run Away!" (a favorite of the British). If you had joined the Armee de Nord you would have been exposed to the finest French wines, the best food, and only 5-star hotels!

<i>Naturallement</i>, I do think he made the right the right choice ... if things go utterly wrong, AdN officers can only go down with the sinking ship, while AdR officers can change sides perfectly legally and thus end the war as winners whatever comes ... unless they botch the timing, like the Saxons tend to do. [:p]

I´m sorry to upset you I didn't mean to be rude, Monsieur le Comte de Hainaut et Duc de Lutzen, unfortunately I must choose only one Army. Sure, I like the french red wine but I also love beer [:p] Charging in the snow?...Brrrr!!

Wow, so "AdR officers can change sides"...Very interesting...Where´s Blucher?[;)].

I see my good Marechal, you at least placed him in my capable hands to train. I will still teach him the finer points and I will be justifiably proud when he racks up sword after sword from the Allies.

Even if he has to rough it with the AdR in the 3 star hotels!

I know, all this ended some years ago with the French Revolution and the ideals of liberty and equality. (The American Revolution served as a profound example to all Europeans, of course). But later, the most glorious, the most august Emperor took over the government and the Revolution faded. A new world, a new thinking, economy and society.
