Gentlemen,

I answered General Hecht's challenge to meet him at Cane Hill (HPS Ozark, Scenario 09, 27 turns). His stipulation in the challenge was for an opponent who had not opened the scenario previously. I enjoy 'blind' (or at least nearly-so) scenarios, so we exchanged messengers and the battle was on.

The scenario opens with a Rebel Major Victory. When night fell at the end of the battle, General Hecht's forces held control of most of the battlefield - including half the geographic objectives - and he had forced me into a Rebel Minor Defeat. I felt extremely lucky to have held him to that. He dogged me every step of the way as I withdrew, preventing me from regrouping or organizing any kind of cohesive defense.

This round is on me, on behalf of my esteemed opponent. My hat is off to him!
