No, of course not. Actually it was Rich Hamilton from HPS who invented this thing ... or at least he recommended it first to me.
No, my point is that the original game CDs have no copy protection, so an unreasonable person can just copy them illegally. That being the case (HPS accepting that their games can be copied illegally), I wonder why they bother to have the game request the CD in the drive (original, copy, or "magic"), which just wears out the drive, annoys the user, and does nothing to prevent illegal distribution ...
