Gentlemen<salute>,
Is there a way to tell which campaign scenario you are currently playing? In a player/ai game?

Not sure if I have this right but here's what I've been doing for reporting campaign scenarios.

If you open the .cpf file from the first turn of the battle with a text editor such as notepad you'll see a header similar to this.

----- PEM Header -----
1 0 -1 -1
11
Battle of New Madrid-Grant, Polk, Van Dorn; March 12, 1862
1862 3 12 6 0 0 0 1 40
10 20 30 2
10 20 30 2
-400 -250 250 1000
2 2 0 0 130775
474 387
New Madrid with No. 10(a).map
New Madrid_Polk_Dorn_Grant.oob
New Madrid.pdt

Now go into the Campaign Folder of the game, in this case Shiloh and look for a .scn file with a similar name to the first part of line 3, in this case Battle of New Madrid. You'll find several such files in this case numbered 116-120. Opening each of them in turn with the text editor you should find small differences between them. In this case

#116 had a different oob
#118 had a different pdt
#119 had a different oob
#120 had a different oob

#117 is the only one with the same map, oob and pdt and therefore the only match. Sometimes you will find several with the same files but you will generally find something different in the rest of the header.

11
Battle of New Madrid-Grant, Polk, Van Dorn; March 12, 1862
1862 3 12 6 0 1 0 1 40
10 20 30 2
10 20 30 2
-400 -250 250 1000
2 2 0 0 4292
600 500
New Madrid with No. 10(a).map
New Madrid_Polk_Dorn_Grant.oob
New Madrid.pdt

So in this case I will file this game as Campaign Scenario #117. The interesting part is if you look in the main folder you will see the game scenarios don't exactly match this one. Stand alone scenario #123 is the closest match to Campaign #117. Hope this helps.
