I want to play 098. The Battle of Marengo. I want to play the French side.
Opponent must have the game installed. Latest update.
Options to use: All ON except for MDF, NRO, PR and MIM.
House rules:
1. Please do not use supply wagons as shields. This includes placing them on the flank of an artillery line.
2. Skirmishers must remain within 5 hexes of a formed unit of their parent brigade.
3. Colonel Anonymous should not be used as a scout.
4. Infantry should not form square unless they are in danger of being charged. For instance: for the French to suddenly form square when the Austrians are not even across the Fontanone Stream would not be allowed. On the other hand where the terrain obscures vision infantry may form square. Examples would be hex 76,57. Just trying to keep the amount of unhistorical squaring to a minimum. I wont nit pick the rule since I am using it for the first time.
Want to keep a good rate of turns. Lets do 3-4 turns a week. More if possible. The scenario is 78 turns and it will take some time to complete.
I am going to use my French strategy as formulated during playtesting. Basically the French fall back to certain lines on the battlefield.
There .. you know my strategy already. See if you can beat it!
