Bon jour Sirs,

As its the anniversary of the great battle I would like to send out a challenge for a re-fight. Historical or No Fixed units but a couple of pre-requisites:

1. Must be MOEIV rules with embedded melee (remember a hex with less than 1?? skirmish troops can be meleed anytime).

2. Embedded Melee and Game Turn is phased so;

a. Move units you wish and set up all melees, then
b. Fire all units you wish, then
c. Conduct all melees, then
d. Move and/or Fire any units still able to.

This is a great way of stopping blitz attacks and tends to make for a more historic flow to the battles I have found. This sequence also favours the defender slightly.

Everything else is negotiable and am happy to try out house rules if you desire.

I am away on holiday until 18 Sept so will reply to any takers then.

Salute!

Hi Mike,

I would love to play this one as well if you want to do two. If you can only do one Alexandr asked first of course.

I always use those rules these days myself.[;)]

Polkovnik Alexandr Zaytsev and Major General Ed Blackburn,

Gentlemen, thank you for your acceptance. Yes I will take you both as I do enjoy a challenge and have several plans I can try out.

Definitely MOEIV rules with the embedded melee and phased as I stated below ie

"2. Embedded Melee and Game Turn is phased so;

a. Move units you wish and set up all melees, then
b. Fire all units you wish, then
c. Conduct all melees, then
d. Move and/or Fire any units still able to.

This is a great way of stopping blitz attacks and tends to make for a more historic flow to the battles I have found. This sequence also favours the defender slightly."

The optional rules as Alex has shown are ok by me. Give me the weekend to do the moves (twice!) and from then on it will be about 2-3 turns max a week.

Ed if you can send me an email at m.ellwood06@yahoo.com please.

Alex I've sent you this same email, if you dint get it please sent one to me as above.

Onward!
