I'm very happy to offer the first PBEM challenge to anyone else buying a copy Les Grognards.

Happy to take on either one of the smaller of the 10 supplied scenarios or to set up some 'quick battle'. More details when the pre-Xmas downloads begin...

(NB. As scoring at NWC isn't yet decided upon, our results may take a little while to be tabulated).

Russian Army

By the time you read this, I will be the proud owner of a copy and waiting for the first other NWC member to take up this challenge.

Oorah for the Russian Imperial Army!! Come Austrian midgets! Come French pirates! Feel the sting of the Tsar's 'daughters' on the Les Grognards field!!

I will take the challenge and see if we can get a PBEM game up and running and I am fine with not having this scored until we see how it all works. Oh and I am having a problem with the Borodino scenario, well at least in solo mode, the game crashes to the main menu, so I would like to bypass Borodino for the moment.

I think Friedland is there. Let's try that? I'll go and find out how to set one up and be back in a day or so.

Actually, having seen that Benningsen faces 77000 French with 59000 Russians (who, if the scenario is historical, should be exhausted), I would suggest instead we each take around 100,000 CEP and try something random.

How's that sound?

That sounds good Harry. I will read up on how we proceed from here. Having dinner now, so I will take a peek at the literature, again, in a couple hours. do you have a side preference?

Oh, I'd like my first LG battle to be under the colours of glorious Russia. Too bad the Prussians aren't in the package yet for you. You could hold onto the germanic link with the Austrians...

I have been messing around a bit. Generated a random map and random army. 100 to 300 CEH just to see the size differences. But I am at a loss on how to share a random generated map and a created OoB to facilitate a PBEM game

And I forgot? I wonder if we need to use the doctrine editor as well? We might be better off starting with a pre-made scenario until we get an idea of what we are in for.

Okie doke. That'll get us started, at least. Well, I shall not be a wimp. Let's do Friedland after all. I'll figure out how to do PBEM and send you a file presently.

Sorry Lancier, I hadn't checked back to this thread and missed your post. Yes, the PBEM takes a little getting used to. I still haven't happily got my head around it although I'm deep into 2 pbems as it is (why are the Russians always outnumbered?! Gosh they must be tough! :P )
