Scenario or campaign. Any title except Waterloo (install problems w Windows 7 - cyclic redundancy error?) , Jena (inaccessible disk), Leipzig or 1814 (yet to purchase). Prefer standard optional rules, no other house rules.

Col. Shore,

Would you be interested in a Wagram Campaign. I would play the Austrians.

We Allied players have a time trying to find Frenchmen to play. Maybe the French players SHOULD NOT respond to other French players requests for games for two weeks to give us a chance. Just sayin'.

Well Al,

In stead of making rude comments why don't you post a challenge. I'm sure some French officer who needs an easy victory will give you a game.

Is that a response to my challenge, or just a complaint?

Not being rude, nor complaining. Just give the Allies a chance to reply.

I currently have five games going so I can't take the challenge (the curse of RL, limited time and belonging to multiple clubs), but there are others who want to play (at least that's what they say), so give them a chance.

The post was barely 12 hours old before you responded Thomas. That is really not enough time to allow many readers to find it and respond.

I still think same side players should refrain from accepting until the players from the other side have had a sufficient time to find the post. Two weeks may be too long, perhaps 72 hours is more reasonable.

Al,

You say you are not complaining, then what are you doing? Your whole statement is nothing but a complaint about the timing of my response to a challenge. Which I find absurd.
The Challenge board has always been first come first serve. I have personally missed out on numerous possible games because someone else had responded before me. It is just the way it goes. Therefore I would suggest you quit whining and grow up.

You also say you were not rude. I beg to differ. Since your first post was made directly after I had made my offer. I can only conclude that your comment was a personal criticism of my offer which I find rude and offensive in nature. Therefore I feel you should consider offering offering and apology to myself and Col. Shore for your unwanted intrusion.

Gentlemen,

As you were. No need to sling mud at each other. Cool your tempers and pay attention.

La Grande Armee now has a tournament Liaison officer attached to headquarters staff, Colonel Schmidgall, who is also acting as an opponent finder. French or Allied, if you cannot find an opponent in this forum, contact Colonel Schmidgall and he will find an appropriate opponent for you.

If he cannot, contact me and I will find one.

There is no need to worry about being able to jump on new postings to get an opponent.

The problem with not talking face to face we can get off on the wrong foot. It is very easy to take things the wrong way. I hope we get two battles out of this posting.

Oh! Good luck to the French Officers! But I hope everyone has fun!!!

Battle On....

As everyone knows by now, I fully agree with the concept that having fun is really the main outcome we should seek in our games. :P :P :P

I also agree with Al's wish of good luck for the French officers who are about to enter onto this particular field of battle, for it appears that they may be facing a British Guardsmen. If that is truly the case, the hapless French officers will no doubt need every bit of luck they can manage to somehow scrape together.

Oh yes, one more thing that I nearly forgot........God Save The King!!!

Hello Jim,

I sent you and e-mail to the address you gave proposing a 2 day Wagram battle. Ithen saw your post to Col. Shore and thought you had moved on. I am sorry we missed communicated. I have since started an Eylau game and am booked up for now. I hope maybe we can meet on the field of battle at a later date.

Yours respectfully,
