The problem with the parameter data is that its now so big. For the campaign I had to use a large file rather than make up a ton of smaller ones. The reason is that when we go to update the PDT files for updates it keeps it simpler.

Unfortunately, I too note that it takes MUCH longer to load.

Basically, you probably need more RAM. Send this issue to Rich H. at the HPS Support email along with the amount of RAM you have. I have 2 GB of RAM which is not your common size (yet).

The file you want to open varies with scenario. Find the .scn file you are playing and open it with a text editor. Then look for the line that has the .pdt file listed. Close the .scn file and then open the .pdt file. The format can be read by opening up a similar game in the series such as Waterloo. By a quick comparison of numbers you will figure out which values are which.

Wish I could help you out more. Obviously the solution would have been to use about 20 PDT files but .... that would have caused alot of possible issues all its own.

If anyone else has this problem contact Rich. Perhaps John can come up with some other way to load the file that wouldnt hog as much memory.

I'd recommend keeping the pdt file as one document, but having the 'displayed' parameter data displayed under three or four different tabs under the help tab; Weapons, Movement, Weather and Miscellaneous Information.

It should be a simple coding effort to split how the information is displayed.

Probably a good idea. Something for John to ponder.
