At the end of the Eckmuhl campaign the screen came up with the idea that we could continue if we have the Vienna Campaign. What is that?

Thanks

That is Campaign Wagram. There is a feature to bring the results of Eckmuhl forward to Wagram so as to play the larger 1809 campaign.

Now your going to get me to buy another game! Just wish I could afford it! My last bucks went to the crappy Empire in Arms game.

Would love my money back on that one.

Doug.

Your not the only one with EIA. [:(]

Anyway . to be able to go on to Wagram, you would have had to tick it in the Eck game when you started..So you dont have to rush out to get it..[;)]

Guys - I sold my copy of EiA on Ebay for almost 50 bucks. I lost about 30 on it but its better than it sitting on the shelf.

The game is best played ... well its just not best played. They really need to fix the PBEM feature as discussed before. I highly recommend that we DONT adopt the game as a club feature. Just too many game files to pass back and forth per turn.

The first version of EC didnt have a continuation campaign. I added in a new campaign file (1809Campaign.cpd) with one of the updates. You can carry forward the .cpf file into Wagram and pick up where you left off.

The title for the two-game campaign is:

1809 Campaign - Eckmuhl and Wagram

The campaign.cpd file is:

Eckmuhl Campaign - April 1809

If you won a Minor French victory then the text at the end reads:

"This is the historical result and the campaign of 1809 can be continued by playing On To Vienna!"

On to Vienna is the main campaign file in Wagram. In this case you CANNOT use the Eckmuhl .cpf file to continue play. The second campaign listed above is a stand-alone campaign and doesnt link into Wagram.

And actually the only difference is in club scoring as nothing is different if you play the EC campaign, score it, then start up the WC campaign, score it OR just play the all in one campaign 1809 Campaign - Eckmuhl and Wagram, as they are pretty much the same. You would get a few extra points for the person that won.

I added it in for those that own both games, wanted to play it as one large campaign and didnt want to have to start it all up again.

At some point in time I will include some situations to the west of Abensberg for the EC Minor Austrian Victory situations. I now have a huge amount of mapping data in digital format and can make up more maps around the EC area if I so choose.
