I havent. If its PBEM and has a replay feature I am sure that the club guys might find it of interest.

The problem with me and Matrix is that their graphics are murky looking at times. Sort of blurred and it hurts my eyes to look at them. Same goes for alot of the realtime stragegy games. Get tired of looking at the screens.

Matrix likes a dark look to their games so I tend to avoid buying them for that reason alone. I do own a few of their games, Pacific War, Uncommon Valor and they are better. Their RTS games and some of their boardgame like stuff is hard to view for me.

I was a playtester on this game last year. I really like the operational model of the game. The map is nice (alhtough the graphics coudl be better) and gives lots of room for manouver, flanking, lines of supply, etc. Terrain is important. Basically, the pieces consist of stacks. Each stack has at a leader with units attached to him. The basic unit is regiment and battery. Many different types of inf, cav, and artillery is present.

To attack a hex, you move multiple stacks on to the target and, when everyone is in place, click the battle button. You can then either auto-resolve or fight it out on the random (based on terrain) battle map. I have found that the auto-resolve favors the computer heavily.
For the battle map, the system is prety simple yet still fun (no match for HPS). CAvalry is best against disrupted foes and guns can soften up the enemy. Againm, flanks and terrain are very important. But the AI just cannot put it all together.

Converely, the operation AI is very good and competetive. It flanks and manouvers. The leadership system is nice too and very important. Lots of campaigns are playable so their is nice operational variety.

So, I give it about 7/10 and would rate it higher if the battle AI was better. For PBEM, it could get real long if you play out every battle but operationally it woudl certainly be fun.
