Gents,
I would like to know your opinion about such an idea. We have several personal tournaments to determine the best player. MOE, NWC Classic, Young Sirs. We have one tournament where the teams can compete. What if we have a tournament where several teams (2 men) could compete in the same manner as in MOE? It would increase camaraderie between the team members very much. I suggest the teams to be mixed, i.e. they may contain members of any army. It would be valuable experience if the French fight alongside the Russians or Austrians. With 4 men in game the battle would take much more time than in head to head game. So the team members should commit themselves to a very fast turnaround.
Historical framework is as follows. As you may know after the 100 days France was occupied by the Allied armies. Each one bringing a corps. I had an oob for the Russian occupation force and only recently bumped into such an oob for the British force. I suggest to have a series of maneuvers Russian corps vs. Anglo-Allied on a large Waterloo map. Each force about 30 batallions, 30 squadrons and 20-25 4 gun strong batteries, plus engineers, wagons, etc. Every commander would have a smallish force and hence making the turn would take very limited time and increase the overall speed of game. I will set up the battles on the huge map but in the areas that may be rarely visited by the players.
So what would you say?
