Napoleon's Apogee: Pascal Bressonnet's Tactical Studies 1806 - translation by Scott Bowden (and others)

Soon to be released by Military History Press.

I typed with Scott Bowden about his Glory Years series (1805-1807) and he has no plans on putting out his own work on 1806 but will use his book on Davout and this title to represent the 1806 campaign.

Hoping that he does something for 1807 or translates something from the German or Russian (with help as I dont think he reads Russian but who knows ...) to go with what Davout has to say.

Has anyone bought Kevin Zucker's four Special Studies books? I got mine in the mail yesterday and they are nice additions to my library. I still pick up his boardgames now and then. You dont see much on Napoleonics in the boardgame community. The maps are great for planning campaigns.

If you understand Scott's bias right away then you can get past some of his statements. He didn't think much of the Allied commanders with some exceptions (Wellington, Charles, etc).

On the other hand he is quick to point out the petty jealousies that existed among the Marechals.

As this book is a translation it wont have Mr. Bowden's bias except in his choice of words in English. I cant see him being dishonest with the author's bias towards one side or the other.

I am wondering how the author treated the Prussian skirmisher issue (if he addresses it at all).
