That is a good suggestion about the listing of "vacant" units. I was thinking about it as well. But I think, when potential new members visiting the site, they could think that there is no space, and then run away to other armies. And we don't want that don't we? [;)]
So I guess that we should have a 'few" open spaces, but indeed not to much.

I don't mind a few open/ vacant spaces because that can also attract new members, but when half the units are not filled with officers (actually more then half when I used the old OOB)the situation does not look very healthy.

You should have seen the AAA OOB when I took over the website in, oh, maybe 2002? It was a skeleton with hardly any flesh on it. We had practically all divisions there ever were in the Anglo-Allied Army (including a Spanish one of which I am not sure it ever actually was there), with all their brigades and regiments, but the entire thing had plenty of holes of the size you could march an army through, and most of the officers that *were* listed were in fact inactive. After we streamlined it I believe we had less than half the divisions and brigades as before, and there was still plenty of elbow space.
In fact I prefer to not list vacant regiments at all, to avoid the empty look. [:)]
