Can I ask how the movement is processed? that is, can I tell IV Corps to move from A to B and the program will arrange everything, or do I move element by element myself?

Element by element though there is a Command Control feature. It can be invoked for those moves where you want to move a large group of units over an area of ground that is undisputed.

But mainly you move the units one by one.

Great news!!!
Congratulations to creators and... all of us[:)]!!!

But I have a little question:
"Indirect fire ability for howitzers and licornes" - how is it possible?
All arty batteries which have howitzers (or licornes) divide in "cannon part" and "howitzer part"?

Kirill - to use indirect fire you pick a hex that is out of LOS of the indirect fire weapon and then use the Control key + right click on target hex or you use the artillery dialog and just fire on a unit. If its out of LOS it will use the Indirect fire formula.

I divided up the Russians into indirect fire sections as they had 4 guns per battery (for the most part). Where there was just 2 howitzers for the French or other nations I did NOT divide up the batteries in order to keep down the amount of units.

In a future title I am doing I took the French howitzers and combined them into a 4 gun section.

Also: Indirect fire weapons must still have a LOS to the target in order to perform Opportunity fire during an opponent's turn. I checked this out to be sure today. I moved French units out of LOS of a Russian licorne section I had unlimbered (yes, it was unlimbered!) many times but they never were fired on. Thus there is no fear of moving around the map out of LOS of an indirect fire weapon and wondering if they are going to fire on you. If this does happen in your games please report it directly to Rich Hamilton at the HPS Support email!

Hope that helps.

Bill, thank You very much. It's very helpful!

And another one question - "trench terrain type", what's this?
As far as I know trenches used only in Civil War in first time, not in Napoleonic wars...

Thank You for your answers!

Trenches were used in both Spain and the siege of Danzig in the Napoleonic wars I recall. I would not be surprised if most all sieges of the period used them.

Not sure about actual non siege battles though.

There is one battle I am working on that used trenches. Abatis also was used.

Trenches were dug during some battles but yes, its mainly for the sieges like those found in the Peninsular battles.
