Napoleonic Wargame Club (NWC)

For the only time in my life, I think, the Australian dollar is worth more than the US dollar. Woot!!

So, I rush to Amazon where there are some AMAZING deals. Books that would cost me $30 in Australia are ... well one of them is <$1!!

What should I get???

Oh, I have a problem too cos they won't send all of these to Australia. *pout* Anyone know a solution to that? I don't even understand why not (and they carry on about globalisation!!)

Vol.II of Gill's Thunder on the Danube

and Michel Leggiere's Napoleon & Berlin the Napoleonic Wars in Germany 1813;

..and his 1st volume on the Campaign in France.

Also 1805: Austerlitz by Robert Gertz

I probably can't buy all that *sigh* but it's a nice dream at about 80% of the usual price buying over the net or 60-70% of shops in Australia.

Any additions you'd suggest? Or would you recommend I drop any of these from my list?

The Austerlitz book is the best. I have Kagan and its alright but Goetz covers alot more of the action with excellent maps and OBs.

Thanks for the tip 'bout the Austerlitz book. I've been reading Ian Castle's 'Austerlitz: Napoleon and the Eagles of Europe'. That's been a good read too which, alas, I must return to the library.

One of the interesting elements in Castle's version is the key part played in the campaign by the french spy, Karl/Charles Schulmeister, one of Gen. Savary's most effective agents. He was a key figure in bamboozling the hapless Mack into thinking Napoleon was not the threat at Ulm that he turned out to be.
