I tread lightly in other clubs in the area of recruitment but the Musket and Pike series game, The Renaissance, just had a 3D update and for those of you that like colorful armies and great battles of long ago, this game is for you.
The Musket and Cannon Game Club is coming up on its first year of service to the wargaming community and we all would like to use this opportunity to offer up an invitation for you to join our club.
Requirements are similar as here except that musters are performed by your CinCs and all you need to do to qualify as active is play one game per quarter (or you can play one of the long scenarios and take your time at it).
Rich White did a great job on the game and Dean Beecham's 3D graphics look really nice. Add in that both of them are members (and army CinCs) and you can't lose.

Dean did the front page for the club and the game forms. They are really nice with pull down lists of members and scenarios.
We use Conduct points to award noble ranks. Battle points, as usual, provide you with promotions.
We are in the second round of our first tournament and its been a good fight.
The M&P series uses a enhanced version of the HPS Napoleonic engine with similar options. Cavalry can either be good in melee (impact) or for fire. Pike units are similar to squares except that they can attack when in BLOCK formation.
Skirmishers, line formation, all the usual stuff from the Napoleonic engine are there including Pioneer unit types.
Artillery is in two basic classes: light and heavy. The latter take time to SETUP. There are a few Horse Artillery types.
More games in the series should be coming out in the years to come. I look forward to the English Civil War as well as games dealing with the 30 Years War as well. Add in that the engine would be good for the Seven Years War as well.
Its a colorful game. Lots of new nationalities and battles.
We hope to see you over there soon.
Note: the forum is only for members. I do this to keep the admin down (and spammers as well). If you want to join up use the form on the home page. I will then set you up with an account using a username of your choice.
