Hi,

I used the basics of NS project to convert NRC Borodino scenario. I am currently looking for an opponent to take the French side and would be interested to get some feedback / ideas on the changes I made:

Its hard to say when you are the attacking Army and there is nothing that can aid you in moving the enemy but numbers!

Fascinating battle with unparallel valour shown by both sides and possibly one of the most balanced large scenarios HPS had to offer for PBEM.

French have insignificant advantage in numbers (10% in cavalry) and some advantage in quality (Napoleon's Guard vs Rus militia / French Cuirassiers vs Cossacks) and organisation. On the the other hand Russian can make a use of terrain and their powerful artillery.

With New Settings Russian army lost its overwhelming advantage in morale and now Russain player will have to work hard to keep his line solid and holes in Russian line do appear from time to time.

In my playtest game heavy divisions of French 2nd Reserve Cavalry Corps, taking aadvantage of disorder and routs, managed to punch a wide hole in the Russian line and pour into the rear. Russian reserves were rushed in and French Cuirassiers and Carabineers, lacking artillery and infantry support, eventually had to fight their way back to the French lines. After about 30-35% losses they made it back. I was lucky to have superb French command chain and A quality units - had this been regular infantry / cavalry it would be a total disaster similar to British cavalry at Waterloo.

Possibly the most dynamic and interesting game I ever had. Lots of tactical challenges for the French player.

So does anyone plan to take on Borodino and see Moscow at some stage?
