A PC game of the popular miniature rules, Fields of Glory by Slitherine/Osprey has been produced by Matrix. They have also put out two expansions, Rise of Rome and Storm of Arrows.

Here is the link to the core game:

Has anyone in the club tried this out. I just downloaded and installed the game and it looks like a fun game.

I also have the two expansions.

You can play it by email though I have not looked into that yet.

Anyway, I plan on trying it out over the weekend and see how it works. If I like the game enough I will post a challenge over on the Off-Topic forum.

Quick followup: Slitherine hosts a Multiplayer server. You use that option when you start up the game and then it takes you to the server where there are challenges posted.

I have yet to be able to get it to work. Also I note that if Slitherine ever goes bust that the server option (and PBEM) probably would go with it. Kind of an interesting way of doing things though as you can't tinker with the files - they are stored on the server and you get an email notification from the server when its your turn to do your move.
