As those of you who are in other clubs may have heard, this version of the NWC board will soon be closing. I'm unsure of the details, but as I understand it, the provider that Alex has been using is changing some things.

While I'm unsure what's going to come, rest assured that we will have an active board for our group.

Yes, I discussed this with Ernie Sands in email and I am sure that between the different officers of the clubs that we can figure out a place for them. The goal is to keep them all linked just like we have it now so that navigation from one club's set of forums to the others is similar.

I am not sure if the forums themselves can be moved but again, that is something that will get discussed by all of the club's leaders and its hoped that it can turn out to be very transparent to all of the members such that only the URL to the main forum would be all we need to have on our PCs. The forums themselves of course would have new URL links on the club webpages (and various other websites that link them).

The transition may be with some downtime and the backup forums for each club (if this one has one) would be useful to use at that time.

Alex Cuva is reporting that a new forun soloution is in the works...

The only bad news is that the curent content of our forums cannot be moved to the new forum

If you want copies of anything, you better start making them.

Yes, we especially need to preserve those threads where Scott Ludwig is making a big noise about old horseface himself, Wartface or whatever his name was. Oh yes, "Old Vorwarts" - those are classic posts and tell the story about the club better than even Ernie could do![:D]

This is the latest on the transition to the new boards.

http://www.wargame.ch/board/acw/topic.a ... C_ID=15462

in short, it looks like we can keep all the current content and not ose anything but it is still being worked on.

My thanks to all who are making this possible.

It is going well being tested with the ACWGC right now. The non archived topics have been migrated the archived posts need to be worked on.

The data will be migrated soon, tomorrow or so. We will lose any post sin the transition, It will take a couple of days to sort everything out so I ask you to limit your posts as they might be lost depending on the migrations. Working with people in Europe so the timing is difficult.

This thread could be deleted as it pertains to the older forum and not this one.
