I just wanted to say (as I know he cops a lot of flak) that as a Napoleonic wargamer the work Bill Peters has done and is doing for no great financial return is just bloody awesome!!

Thanks Bill the HPS series for all it's faults is the first time an old tabletop wargamer like me has been able to manuever his btns in the context of the operational level.

A level that was created by the person this club is named after! You saved me painting another 3000 figures and buying a bigger house.

Helga a round here for Bill and also some Vodka for the passionate Russians who are in pursuit of a variation of the game. These things need not be in conflict gents so lets keep the debate civil!

After all 'what more is history but a fable agreed upon' Napoleon

Vive l'Empereur

HPS Napoleonic games are apparently the only ones worth taking seriously.

Over the last few years the series has improved tremendously.

For both we must be grateful to a whole team with Bill being its face. The only thing our "passionate group" has in mind is that there is always a room to grow.

A whole transport of vodka and captured cogniac is to arrive shortly. Helga! Just keep those bottles comming!

Happy New Year, camrades!

Heck, I'll drink to it regardless, be you a Grognard or an Ensign!

Thanks, Bill for everything you have done and still continue to do. I play your games and love them! <Salute>

I would also extend a toast to our fine, Russian officers for their passion and vision of a new system. Having read the H&R document, I can say with absolute certainty that the game will play very differently. Whether that is better, or worse, is entirely an opinion left to the individual players to form. There are likely to be as many different opinions as there are individual officers to express them.

Within the hallowed walls of this Tavern though, we are all just one drunken mass. In truth, I am only belligerent when I am sober, partly due to the fact that when drunk I have difficulty loading my rifle and almost universally cannot locate my horse.

So Helga, please bring yet another round of Vodka, Schnapps, Whiskey, Ale .... oh, heck just bring one of everything you have, but be sure to include a fine, French wine that compliments the new perfume of GdB Knox. And yes, Jagermeister for me if you will. Old habits are hard to break.

Well guys, (gulp) thanks! Just got up today and pulled the PC and peripherals out of my boxes, fired them up and this was a nice way to ring in 2011. I will be 50 this month and while numbers do not mean anything the last 15 years spent playing computer opponents have also helped me to avoid the boardgame table madness as well.

I give a lot of the credit to Rich Hamilton who is a really great guy to work with and while we have our differences he took the load of managing the overall Napoleonic projects off of me some time back. This allowed me to focus on just what I had to do for my contracts and not have to worry about which guy would do which project, etc. Not that I was ever really doing that but just the same without him and if he had decided to step out of the work it helped out John and myself a lot.

And if you like you can call him Farmer Hamilton as in case you didn't know he now is living on a full blown farm with eggs each morning and so on!

But thanks just the same. It has been difficult at times but I enjoy this period immensely and if funds will come my way I hope to see more of you the next time we have Tiller Con.

Well said Colin and guys. Bill we are very gratful for your hard work. My life would be missing something very enjoyable without the games you have designed. :D
