This thread gives a good history of the problems that have sunk the Magweb ship:

I was looking for some articles and was thinking of buying a month's subscription. Only current members can access the articles. If you have a subscription and can actually get to the articles please let me know. I would like you to search for something for me.

Magweb has been gone for at least two years. I find it hard to believe that current subcribers can access anything after a flood and lightning strike. If the files are backed up somewhere he would have started the site over, unless he's given up.

If you read the text there was a comment about why folks that had current subscriptions were still able to get on the site. It had to do with the fact that he had to redo the site in some way that affected new folks and new mags. Anyway just relating somewhat what they had to say ....

Main thing is - it is down and it is a shame that such a site could not have been backed up better. Or that a mirror site was included in the subscription price.

I read all that stuff several years ago when I tried to resubscribe. It doesn't make logical or economic sense to me, especially after all this time.
