Another full blown report:
Campaign Leipzig was released and HPS/JTS does not have it's own forum, but Wargamer.com's forums are some of the main places that they have discussions. Since most folks are familiar with the NWC there, I did a short plug on the tail end of Bill Peters' post:
http://www.wargamer.com/forums/posts.asp?t=581789&p=3 I had also earlier posted about the Tourney, albeit, just as news for anyone interested as it would of been impossible for them to get through the training system in time, unless it was skipped:
http://www.wargamer.com/forums/posts.asp?t=581632 Next up is Armchairgeneral Forums: I posted a full blown ad there promoting Leipzig and the Club:
http://www.armchairgeneral.com/forums/s ... p?t=117294 Earlier this Fall Vincent Maddis has posted about the Club as well at Armchairgeneral and I backed up his efforts with more info for folks too:
http://www.armchairgeneral.com/forums/s ... p?t=115474 I not only posted in the turn-based section of Armchairgeneral, I posted in the actual Napoleonic History section, albeit, not a direct ad out of respect for their section, but an honest link to the plug for the game I just mentioned above:
http://www.armchairgeneral.com/forums/s ... p?t=117295 It actually garnered some responses.
Slithertine Games: Got two plugs for Commander: Napoleon at War:
http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtop ... 68390f78de and a direct plug in its own topic:
http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtop ... 68390f78de Matrix has a plug for Crown of Glory:
http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2632510 and the Battleground series:
http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2342979 I need to redo one for Commander: Napoleon at War, as it seems they just cleaned up their forums last night.
AGEOD: A direct plug in Napoleon's Campaigns section:
http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthread.php?t=15516 another in the opponent finder for the Wargame.ch Clubs at large:
http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthread.php?t=22039 I will bump this one when it gets to the third page of the opponent finder.
HistWar: A plug on their communities section:
http://www.histwar.org/forum/index.php/ ... 779.0.html and their multiplay section:
http://www.histwar.org/forum/index.php/ ... 111.0.html. I also have diplomacy going with a couple of the big gaming Clans out there. The ones Rustem Riza (Andlrd) is a part of and he has done a lot of plugging us on the side, as you can see from this post. He's has been helpful in promoting here too.
The Lordz Modding Group: Backed up a post Vincent did there:
http://www.thelordz.org/forum/viewtopic ... 0c1be70b53 and briefly one Rustem did there:
http://www.thelordz.org/forum/viewtopic ... 0c1be70b53 I don't expend a lot of effort here, as they are the least interested type of gamer in our system usually, but always worth a try.
Scenario Design Center: Steve Trauth has us posted in the opponent finder:
http://hist-sdc.com/hps/opponents.htm as well as Wargame.ch plugged on his main page on the left:
http://hist-sdc.com/ I am hoping to do a little more with him when I get a chance.
Bill also plugged the Club in documentation within Leipzig I think at least 4 or 5 times.
Then there is all the website addresses I own that I used to have pointed at the iNWC that point here now: WARGAMINGCLUBS.COM, NAPOLEONWARGAMES.COM, NAPOLEONICWARGAMINGCLUB.COM, NAPOLEONICWARGAMING.COM, NAPOLEONICWARGAMESCLUB.COM, IMPERIALFRENCHEMPIRE.COM, FRENCHHQ.COM and EMPIREOFFRANCE.COM.
Then I routinely check the Google results for our standings in a various combination of search terms. We are typically on the top of the first page.
Finally just Thursday I emailed all the former iNWC players who were still active in the Club at the time we closed it and are NOT members of us, to inform them of the Club's closure and to tell them about us & the Blitz. I plugged us a little more than the Blitz. Two have joined so far, one to Prussia & one to the AAA. Needless to say the French & the AAA have benefited a lot from my activities on this front in the various stages I have done them since the closure. This is the final time this will need to be done. I will no longer be contacting that group, as all will be informed now. My plan is to buy the old iNWC address, as it is advertised a bunch of places (that we are too) when it becomes available and have it points to us as well.
I think there might be one or two other things I am missing, but this is the main deal. Other things will be done as I get a chance, but this is the bread & butter, so to speak.
Rgds,
