Marengo, Lodi, Arcole, Casteggio-Montebello, Novi, Rivoli, Hohenlinden, Bergen, Wurzburg, 1st & 2nd Zurich! All names that hearken back to an earlier era when the long haired Bonaparte dealt the Austrians one defeat after another. When the Allied cavalry would run over the ransacking Frenchmen and saber them and ignore their cries for surrender!

When French army commanders like Moreau and Jordan used cordon tactics like their European counterparts.

When Suvarov descended on the Po River Valley like a thunderbolt to seize the initiative and eventually make his famed march over the Alps!

Yes, these battles hold a special place in the realm of what is known as the Revolutionary Wars.

And maybe one day we will see these battles in glorious Technicolor directed by Cecil B. DeMille's film ancestors! Now where is that phone number for the Steven Spielberg?

Herr Peters,
When speaking of the Corsican menace, you forgot to mention that he was lean and hungry! And skinny! Have you seen those pictures? He was literally hungering for a crown!

Sounds great!

Not much on Corsica except blood feuds! He had to find some way to subsidize his living!
