Hey, I played Empire III. I remember this:

Russians had 4 STANDS and each was a company. They had 4 companies and you could strip off the grenadiers and form combined grenadiers if you wanted to.

x=60 men though you could use a different scale I suppose

They looked like this:

XX
XX
XX
XX

8 figures per battalion.

Yes, French were:

xxxx

xxxx

xxxx

(gaps just to show off the different stands)

The Prussians were:

xxx

xxx

xxx

xxx

My friend Bob did not like it that our resident Prussian expert wanted to strip off one stand to act as skirmishers. Bowden didn't believe that possible for 1813. Funny thing is that every book I read on the Prussians says that they had entire battalions of not only LINE infantry do that but also LANDWEHR! Go figure.

Why didn't I do that in the Leipzig game? For the same reason I didn't allow the French to do it even though history says that they did: playability. There will be plenty of skirmishers to go around as it is. Both sides have a level playing field in Leipzig. No more 1809 - by this time both sides were fielding good numbers of them.

Bardon too, no doubt. :o :(

And me seemingly stuck on the wrong side of the timeline again. Dang, this blue dye itches! :P
