10 Years at the Helm of the Club's Greatest Army!

For all to take notice! This months marks the 10th Anniversary of our Great Generalfeldmarschall's constant and steady leadership as the Oberbefehlshaber der Preußische Armee (Commander of the Prussian Army).

He has been a central figure in the army since the day he joined over 12 years ago. Having served in every key position in the Army and having a winning record with many medals to his name, it is only fitting and proper that we shall recognize and honor this Great Commander.

He has been most generous in allowing me to shape the modern Prussian Armee that we have in the Club today, built on the great traditions he laid down with the officers who came before. Many of these are the reasons why we are the best army in the Club! (I might be bias though...)

All hail Generalfeldmarschall Stefan GroßPrinz Reuter von Wahlstadt

Here's to you, Stefan! Congratulations on having the Second Best Army in the club (I might be a bit biased here as well...)

And a round for Generaal Marco Bijl also, the exemplary commander of The Very Best Army in the Club, the mighty Anglo-Allied Juggernaut! I would put his battle record up against anyone. :P :P :P

My beloved Commander has also shown Herculean restraint for not having placed me in front of a firing squad yet, although we have discussed the matter several times now.

Hail the Chief! For all of your emails to us (via Scott) in the past year and your dynamic form of leadership (through Scott's action).

This is Stefan's moment to shine and not the Anglo-Allied commander's. Lets keep the thread on track and according to its original purpose or we can all start hailing Lou Gehrig too for his great hitting.

Your encouragement to me during the early days of being in the Prussian army and in supporting my desire to help the club in general still remain with me.

And may it always be!

No disrespect to Stefan intended, I certainly toast his longevity as the Prussian Army Commander.

Had the original thread contained only a tribute to Stefan, a glass raised in his honor would have been the end of my post. However, when a claim is asserted that any army in this club ranks above the Anglo-Allied Army, I will always post to refute it. It is my duty to do so and, from my personal perspective at least, there is never an improper time to pay tribute to my own illustrious Army Commander, Generaal Marco Bijl.

All due honor to you, Stefan! :P :P :P

Lol you guys are too funny. In Stefan's defense, he has done a lot over the years, but the past two years or so have been very busy for him and I have never asked any of the command staff to email folks until recently. Though it has been done in the past, I just haven't been as vocal asking for it. I miss Andreas Naujoks, he was a great motivator for the army and did a lot of responding to things, kind of like how Bill does now. He was an ideal commander, which is why he has tributes in some of the army related things in his honor.

It is hard to be consistent, especially in the past 5 or 6 years when the world has been all out of sorts. I sure have struggled myself.

But Mark, when Marco makes 10 years as Army Commander, we'll mail him a fruit basket...

Congratulations, Stefan!

Even though I shall never subscribe to Windy's claim of the greatest army, I will certainly raise a stein or cask or wagonload of fine Bavarian lager to a worthy adversary and someone I have enjoyed facing from the old BG series through our current monster battle at Jena ( the Weimar one with lots of Prussians but no Russians).

Congratulations to all of you, Gentlemen! Sorry, but I will limit myself to only one drink in honor of all three Prussian commanders and will dive back into work.

Congrats Stefan! Helga a round from my purse here.

This post does sound to me like these two allied armies are indeed rivals. Perhaps the Prussians are finally seeing the light about supporting the shopkeepers of London.

Being in their pay keeps the sausages in good supply but does tarnish Prussia's reputation.

Now as for either army being the best I have a different perspective. The French army is the best as its the reason for the club existing. Without our beloved Tondu what would we call the club?

'The early 19th century empire struggles in Europe wargames club' ? catchy a.

'The club of the Prussian leaders pregnant with elephants?' just does not 'ring' really. :D

'The Alexandrian wargames club' hmmmm a bit ancient....

ahhh I know

'The Muddy boots club' :P

I rather fancy the latter. :P :P :P

I must apologize for the misconception. I love my German speaking brothers-in-arms! The seeming friction between us is all caused by France, as we are simply posturing to be in the best position to divide your country upon your inevitable defeat.

Without your nefarious Tondu, this club would probably actually be called "The World at Peace", but I must agree that growing flowers would not be nearly as much fun as fighting battles for old soldiers like us.
