Well said as always, my friend. I have never taken offense at any of your posts or banter. My reference to "push back" meant more that your engagement in propaganda during your advance would virtually ensure my engagement in propaganda should you ever be forced to withdraw.

Not that I would ever engage in propaganda you understand. Everything that I say is absolutely factual and accurate.....well, sometimes anyway.

I actually know, within a reasonable range, exactly where old Nappy is hiding, and it is too far away from the front for even my "formidable" Jagers to traverse in twelve turns, unless he stood absolutely still, which he certainly won't. Even so, he is not devoid of an escort. :o :o :o

Both Al and you are most honorable opponents, and I can honestly say that both Muddy and I have enjoyed playing against you. Not for any reason of victory or defeat, but moreso for the fine company of two exceptional, French gentlemen. 8) 8) 8)

I look forward to continuing the great relationship that we have established for many, many enjoyable years to come.

Sir Muddy sat on his horse, surrounded by his Russian Aide-de-Camps, and surveyed the chaotic scene below him--a swirling mass men, horse, guns, smoke, and explosions. But to his trained eye, the Allied FM could easily discern what was taking place--the French right had bravely marched forward to assail the Russian left flank and instead were surprised and overwhelmed by the Russian Guard and the Russian Second Army that had stealthily been massed in folds and villages about. The Russian counter attack was a complete success and the French right had been turned. The rest of the Russian assault then unfolded en echelon and dealt a death blow to the commands of Murat and Davout. With aid from the center forces of the Russian First Army, the surviving forces of the French right flank were now completely encircled on or about the hill and village of Virobey. There was no urgency now, the coup d'etat would come soon enough.

The news from the center, where Sir Muddy's Hanovarian compatriot, BG Jones had surrounded and destroy the bulk of Napoleon's Imperial Guard was equally satisfying. Indeed, Sir Muddy had experienced few fields upon which the Emperor's Grande Armee had been dealt with so severely. Yet, the French soldiers still rallied to the few remaining Eagles and faced their demise with steadfast devotion to their Emperor and their cause... and Sir Muddy respected that. Indeed, it would be difficult not to admire the French commitment to Napoleon and their duty as soldiers.

Yet, Sir Muddy could not help but enjoy the moment...

Sept 2nd, 1812

15:15 hrs: The Col of Tirailleurs makes his way under flag of parley towards the Russian forces. Not without some trepidation, as he well knows the heat of glorious victory is upon the hearts and minds of the foe. So different from the wearisome weight of full wrought defeat that marks his own.

The officer seeks out the nearest AdC to the legions of Muddy's Muscovites, and professes the earnest desire to bring this bloody day to it's close.

The bitter cup of Major Defeat will be drunk from, the sword proffered to the victors upon this field of honor.

With that, the Tirailleur awaits his opponent's reply.

Gentlemen,

Such losses are only possible in the HPS Simulations Napoleon's Russian Campaign

Artillery duels?

Charges of cavalry, infantry attacks?

Pursuits?
