Do not attempt to discuss about the cabinet and its functioning. However, one thing is certain for me: to unify the system of granting points in all the armies There shouldn't be a situation, that one of the member can get extra points, for example, for administrative and organizational efforts. This should be split - on the one hand points obtained for the battle fought on the other points related to the activity of the club. This second category would rise to cover the administrative functions through the establishment of even a minimum.

Scott is correct, I asked that he post this.

I think inovation is the key to any organization's survival.

The reason I asked him to post is to get some discussion going on how we can avoid the crap that happend with Chuck and Paco. It should not have happened at all. Now we have lost 3 senior members for no good reason.

On the whole I like Scott's concept, my fellow cabinet members may not, and I am intrigued by many aspects of it.

Lets keep the discussion going and keep it pleasant

I agree John, let's discuss and keep it pleasant. As I said I before I do not care for the idea of doing away with an over-arching body to to handle cross army issue and perhaps personal disputes. So if we do away with a cabinet how would we handle such things. In this recent case we had a personal problem, or personality clash between an army commander and a member of that army (This my opinion not a fact). The resolution was to be the army commanders way or the highway (for the member) which I do not believe is fair. So in this case without some kind of club officers like the cabinet to intervene this guy would have had no voice to speak for him.

Thanks John and I agree....

Ed - maybe an ad hoc appeals panel is formed when an incident arises of members from across the Club. Kind of like an actual military panel....

As always, you have some interesting ideas. As always, I disagree with you in some points

I pushed a lot in the past to have a Presidencial election. Remember before the presidential election was create, the Cabinet was contested because it did'nt take account of what most of the players wanted. I agree that election creates others problems that we have to resolve (but it's an other subject). Anyway I think the result of your system would be :
- to create dictators for each army (at least now we can push out the President)
- to dig a great differences between armies (I saw that when ADR and ADN existed in the French Army when I arrived as CIC). I think that most of the people want to stop the differences between armies (See the post of Adam Nosko)

For me a Cabinet is necessary as referee and in order to unificate the traditions of our club. But it's just my humble opinion and I am waiting for your answer, my dear old friend

I don't want to have the French army becoming the same as the Prussian or the Austrian, etc... Otherwise we don't need armies...

I do believe we need to have sides and they have to be different.

And most of all Yann I don't understand why you are still contributing on this forum knowing that you officially resigned a few days ago or are you still with us?

To have a costumer service it would have to be something "professional" and we are just a bunch of players with ego of different sizes.
What I have seen in the different clubs I have been part of is that only a few people don't mind working for everybody else. And most of the time, it's always the same people.

So the concept is maybe nice but the reality is way different.

Like I said before I was aksed to post this and think outside the box...I wasn't too serious about it anyway, nor do I expect any of it to happen or the current Cabinet do anything with it.....besides per a few of my posts back, it isn't the real issue of what is wrong with the Club anyway.

I also do not wish to have my armies be like any of the other ones. I know what is best for my officers, just like Chuck, John, Yann, David and other know what is best for their men.

I don't care to debate this anymore and regret even bringing it up....

You won't get the same spirit and fight out of me anymore Yann, that has been crushed a long time ago.....

It's a pleasure to debate with you. I think you made a good point in posting what you posted ! I like this atmosphere of thinking and constructives debates.

David

I think you are right but you will not be able to push me out so easily. So far I know, I just made an announcement saying that I will resign soon. For the moment I don't send yet my message to Marechal Corbin. As a poor General (I lost my baton in my last resign), I have not sufficient horses and men for my service :D :D :D So it's not yet official. I will stop to post soon. It's may be my last message depend on what will be say. NWC is my house and a lot of members are my friends. I will be always here to help if a friend needs me. I think it is the present case.

I am in agreement with you in your two posts.

Best regards

Adam this is an interesting point and herein is one the things the club has always had. Namely armies that don't do this uniformly for reasons of how they choose to run each army.

I am actually ok with it as it is. I don't like the idea of sterilising the club into uniformity.
But I can understand why others might.

The only thing I would suggest is do away with the bonus points altogether. I guess the question is are they really an incentive for taking an admin role? I get extra points every month as a brigade commander but don't do anything for it. I would not mind either way with or without them.

To be honest the points are not that relevant when you achieve a higher rank so perhaps I am not qualified to have an opinion on this. The ones that count to me are victory points. Take a look at Andy's Moss's count

To make all the armies adopt a uniform system would tie this forum in up in an endless and altogether boring debate (just my opinion  )
