Marechal Jeff Bardon!

Jeff narrowly defeated Bill Cann to secure the honor for himself and La Grande Armee. I commend both of these fine gentlemen for the honorable manner in which they conducted themselves throughout the course of the tournament. They are a credit to their respective armies, and we are so very fortunate to have such talented and honorable warriors as long standing members of our club.

I am told that the outcome has caused some consternation among the tailors of LGA. It appears that they have already reinforced the left breast of Marechal Bardon's coat nearly to the limits of the material to support the weight of his existing medals without ripping. Marechal Bardon does seem determined to once again test the limits of the textile industry of France.

I salute Bill on a well fought battle over difficult ground. In fact, we fought to a draw and the tourney win is based on casualty differential rather than any telling maneuver on my part. So, while I have taken the bracket, I cannot say that I have defeated him.

Marshal Bardon is too modest. During our match, I advanced 3 infantry battalions without proper reconaissance. Before I could blink, Jeff had executed the finest surprise, combined arms assault I have ever witnessed, completley eliminating the 3 battalions. This was the turning point in our match and I was never able to regain the casualty points lost in this encounter. Jeff clearly won the match and deserves all the fruits of winning the Guards Championship. Bravo mon ami.
