Gents,
I invite you to google "wargaming mark jones aloysius kling"
I tried Struggle of Nations, I tried a few other combinations, and then that yielded some fruits.
and see what you find. Ok, ok, I will show you what I found...

http://wargamingsociety.com/

I note that the Forums were set up October 8. I see that the tournament is the same as the one I see set up here. I find this all rather annoying. After all of the cries of conspiracy, etc, to see that this has been in the works and not a peep. All of the nitpicking on record keeping and mustering and, ok, bye, we shall take our toys and go home after kicking a bunch of members out here.

I have tried to be moderate in what I have said so far but I am really annoyed that I invested time and energy in helping to rebuild the Austrian Prussian Swedish contingent and these guys knew in their heads they were gone.

Perhaps Todd is correct, and we shall finally have some peace here. And we have our games, which is why we are here in the first place.

Regards to everyone, and I certainly am not leaving.

And I must add, after calling a vote on 24 pages of rules that exactly zero members were allowed to amend, and creating a whole argument about that, then they just up and leave. Fascinating. I see here that the rules of this club are 4 pages long and consist of the Founders of the Club make the rules...To me, that is telling...

Astonishing turn of events, to say the least.

No one should be fooled by this they got there people in and put out. the founding members an if you voice any thing about them you were put out. I say allow the member they put out back have a new election and get people who want to run a game club like it was in 1998 and get to dead wood out. Ps glide the club name was in Pierre's name is he still here???

I joined this club in late 1998 and have seen lots of people come and go, but the gaming and camaraderie I've enjoyed here has remained constant throughout the years. I see no reason for that to change. Regards to all 8)

Jim, glad to see you and several others that have posted are staying. This club is and will always be about the members and a shared enthusiasm for the period. Its legacy is a welcoming place where people are free to be themselves and participate in the manner that works best for them. As long as games are being played, the essence of the club is preserved.

Let the others fashion their exclusive society and enforce whatever tightfisted rules they wish. If they choose not to fulfill the commitments they made, so be it. We have leaders that are in place and more are ready to step forward. The NWC will remain and come out of this stronger.

So, for myself, I choose to look forward and focus on what I can do to keep our club strong. Todd and Roy, how can I help?

Let's now call the NWC the "New Napoleonic Wargaming Club". We have recently completed a couple of tough chapters of the saga, and now with Todd's leadership and enthusiasm, Roy in public relations, and others such as Jeff, Pierre, Jim and all the other members ready and willing to step into the breach... we should be able to continue forward and enjoy all the virtues of this fine established club.

I ask that we all unite, and support Todd Schmidgall et al as we launch into the future. I have gotten to know Todd well over the past 2-3 years, and I can honestly say that the NWC has a top notch guy at the helm, and he will do a fine job in leading this club forward, particularly with his apparent qualities of comraderie, conciliation, and open-mindedness.

 :frenchhappy: :frenchcharge:

Most leaders I know at the companies I've worked for never do the actual work... LOL. I guess you can say that leadership can also abound in silent ways as well.

Looking forward to new beginnings! The past few months had made me feel very unenthusiastic and de-motivated towards the NWC, but I feel that there is hope now. And now I should really get back to the games that I had started a while ago!

There's nothing New about the club in my opinion. It was is and always will be the NWC. Certainly a fresh start, revitalised maybe.

Good to see such a positive attitude here. Really refreshing to see. When I departed before things were awful.

As a minor member in the club (I use the word minor because I would like to be involved more, but current real life commitments keep me at one game and limited forum involvement.)

I would like to say I do hope very much the club keeps going, especially with JTS still turning out games we support here, I would say a club like this is still very relevant in today's age. I may even go as far as to say that the wargaming community Needs a place like this as a counter balance to all the high-end, super graphic, click fest, type war-games that infect the PC and console environments alike.

I would like to add that I suspect that there are a few more like me that kind of watch from afar, in this club, that would very much like things to keep going with a focus on gaming, celebrating victories, awards for games played, honorable play, recognition for contributions to the club. That is what I feel is a big part of what this club is.
