I would like to say a goodbye to a loyal, trustworthy and honourable comrade who I have the utmost respect for and he is a man who I am truly honoured to call a friend. He is leaving III Corps, LGA, to join the Reserve Cavalry Corps LGA. He will be sorely missed by myself and I dare say by all of my fellow officers and our Commandant of III Corps.
I have no doubt that he will do a fantastic job in the Reserve Cavalry Corps and I would like to raise my glass and give a toast: :frenchsalute: :eagle:

To General de Brigade, Einar Jon Masson, you will be missed my friend but we all wish you the best of luck in your new command and I am sure the Reserve Cavalry Corps are not just getting a fine officer but dare I say one of the best. Good luck and many victories to you Sir :frenchvive: :frenchsalute: :frenchvive1: :frenchsalute: :frenchvive: :eagle:

I almost thought that someone had died when I saw the title of your post...

Luckily it's only a good news.

Yes good luck to Einar as he is now the new corps commander of the Réserve de Cavalerie. :frenchdrunk: :frenchdrunk: :frenchvive1:

Thank you my friends

Even though I miss the III Corps and its leadership Mark & David ;o)
Then this is a time of celebration as our army commander has given my heavier purse for commanding the fine solders of the Reserve Cavalry Corps !!
So Helga tonight the bar is open on my account and please accept a bottle of vine (or beer) from me to celebrate my own promotion to command those fine
solders of the Reserve Cavalry Corps.
Cheers to the III Corps and cheers to the Reserve Cavalry Corps who I'm exited to be taking over.
And "Long live France"

I would like to add a toast to Lieutenant Steve Trauth who will be moving from
15ème Régiment d'Infanterie Légère of the III Corps to join me at the Reserve Cavalry Corps
as my Chef d'état-major assisting me run the Corps.
And still the bar is open ;o)

Yes and I finally got to pay up on a promise I made years ago to my mate, EJM. I promised a flag and I finally got an idea for one (ok so it literally took some years...).

Better late than never (and now I just need to work out my new signature...) :frenchshock: poor moi.

Gentlemen

With shark you should only be drinking 37,5 and taste is best with Brennivín
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brenniv%C3%ADn

I dislike both shark (hákarl) & Brennivín and once every 2 months I turn to the soft drink called Captain Morgans Rum.
That one is rather sweet and one could easily test that one every week (if needed) preferably with Coca cola but there is
a reminder to stop in few hours and to return home as otherwise one could be searching for the sharks at the coastline
and they can be though to handle and not so friendly ;o)

And indeed Shark is not supposed to be eaten fresh (like shows on Davids link) it is eaten as part of Icelandic tradition
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%9Eorramatur
Þorramatur who strangely more and more are turning away from eating ,even though it is by the old Viking tradition of storing food.
I myself can eat smoked lamb & dried fish but all the sour stuff & sheep's heads & such I prefer to pass on ;o)
But after few bottles of Brennivín the tourists here are willing to try anything ;O)
And that is quite many as Icelander are only 300.000 and the tourists per year are more than x3 times that.

Very interesting to note Einar. Iceland is on the list for me & the Lady to visit one of these years. Looks like a very neat place.

Also, love rum & cokes. :frenchcool

Try it with diet coke sometime and yes they go down easy and you can easily find trouble too, if you're not careful.
