New Österreichische Imperiale Armeekorps Website

Gents,

The new Österreichische Imperiale Armeekorps website has been relocated, the link is below. Also the site has been fully restored now. Updates will need to be done for medals, ranks & titles anyone has received since the fall of 2013. As will be noted in the Prussian forces, though the force is at the "Corps" level, a lot of freedom was granted to us, when doing the Order of Battle unit selections, by the Austro-Prussian-Swedish Army Kommandeur Jim Pfluecke. He had previously, through a vote of the members restored the Order of Battle to be based of of the 1809 Wagram Campaign.

When I returned to the Club & took over the Coalition pages, Jim gave me his blessings to expand upon that Wagram Order of Battle. What we did was take the OOB being used and made it generally historically accurate and also converted the unit names & all to German language military style & usage. We also added in almost all of the cavalry from the battle too, as Austrian cavalry, especially the Kürassier Regiments were very central & formidable forces of the Austrian Armee. Also the Reserve-Grenadier Division employed the historical unit names from Wagram. Jim & I agreed that we will add on the end off the names, the last name of the Club member who has that as their honorary unit, once we get to having folks pick a unit.

It should be noted that several things, such a Noble Titles, any rank promotions, medals to be awarded & other Club awards system related aspects of the Austrians will be updated next as part of the plan moving forward. The site overall, is not a complicated site and it was simply a restoration of the one used previously, under my tenure.

It should be noted that, Ludwig Schmidt of the Prussian forces, has been helping me, by checking my German spellings, grammar & usage. I usually get about 90% close to the proper usage. It is the darn small grammar that messes me up and he has been most generous in helping me with the Prussian & the German units in the new Anglo-Allied Army website. He has yet to help me proofread the Austrian site, which I will have him do soon. So I am sure, there are some grammar structure errors on it. If anyone knows, German is next to one of the hardest languages to learn, due to much of the structure & grammar changes that occur when using different combinations & placements of words & different tenses. No translator webiste works better than an actual native German speaker. So Ludwig's help has been most invaluable.

Future plans for the Austrians, much like the Prussians, is to perform a select invitation email to former Austrian members to see if anyone is interested in coming back to the Club.

Jim Pfluecke has done a great job being very hands on with the Austrian officers and it has made all the transition periods very easy for them, which is good considering a lot of the different transition periods the Austrians have been through in the last 4 years or so.

Jim has also been most generous with his support & input for my ideas for the site & forces, so I thank him for that!
